The six theme entries all follow the structure _V _, in which the first part of the themer is a two-letter sequence, the second of which is always V, followed by another word. Deeney has also included a perfectly apt revealer that heightens the wordplay and imposes even more restrictions on the grid by increasing the amount of space the theme occupies - and the challenge of filling the puzzle cleanly. Deeney’s puzzle uses a traditional theme-type, in which the six (!) theme entries all share a common structure. If you want something more to think about, I have to recommend this podcast mini-series on the racist history of I.Q. “Something to think about?” is a cute clue for I.Q. ![]() A “Miner discovery?” is a wordplay clue for VEIN, referring to a VEIN of ore or other minable material.Ĥ2D. ![]()
